On the morning of November 27, a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony between CP Group and the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences was held at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing. Yang Zhenhai, Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Xie Yi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group, attended the signing ceremony.

The ceremony was presided over by Sun Tan, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Bai Shanlin, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China's Agro-Industry and Food Business, Xue Zengyi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China's Agro-Industry and Food Business, Mr. Chawalit, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group's Biotechnology Business, and Peng Wenjun, Director of the Achievements Transformation Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, along with other leaders from both sides, attended the ceremony.

During the meeting, Zheng Haixue, Director of the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, first outlined the prospects for cooperation. He stated that this collaboration aimed to accelerate the industrialization of cutting-edge scientific research achievements in areas such as animal disease prevention and control. By building an innovation platform that deeply integrated research, education, and industry, the institute's technological advantages as a " research national team" would be seamlessly integrated with CP Group's industrial advantages as a "market leader," jointly promoting innovation across the entire chain from technology research and development to market application.

Xie Yi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group, emphasized that this cooperation was an important measure for CP Group to promote the deep integration of biotechnology and the entire agricultural and food industry chain in the Group‘s more than 40 years of development in China. He stated that CP Group would fully leverage its global industrial layout and market resource advantages to form a strong complement to the high-end scientific research capabilities of the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute. Both parties would form joint research teams and build a full-chain transformation platform to create demonstration projects that closely integrated scientific research and industry in key technology breakthroughs and achievement transformation in areas such as major disease prevention and control and green farming. They would also actively leverage the Belt and Road Initiative to help Chinese animal husbandry technology enter the international market.

In his concluding remarks, Yang Zhenhai, Party Secretary of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, pointed out that our country was currently at a crucial stage in accelerating the construction of a strong agricultural nation, and the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had made important arrangements for the modernization of agriculture and rural areas. Faced with major issues such as seed industry revitalization and disease prevention and control, there was an urgent need for research institutions and leading enterprises to deepen cooperation. He expressed his hope that cooperation between the two sides would focus on three main areas: first, achieving new breakthroughs in the prevention and control of major animal diseases; second, accelerating the cultivation of new agricultural quality productive forces and creating a new landscape for the development of the biopharmaceutical industry; and third, serving the Belt and Road Initiative and providing Chinese solutions for global biosecurity governance. Secretary Yang Zhenhai emphasized that cooperation between research institute and enterprise should be deepened with a higher perspective and more concrete measures, making contributions to achieving the goal of building a strong agricultural nation.

In the presence of attending guests, Zheng Haixue, Director of the Lanzhou Veterinary Research Institute, Bai Shanlin, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China's Agro-Industry and Food Business, and Mr. Chawalit, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group's Biotechnology Business jointly signed a strategic agreement. The successful signing ceremony marked a new stage in the cooperation between the two parties, laying a solid foundation for in-depth collaboration and innovative practices.

Following the ceremony, the CP Group delegation, accompanied by leaders from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, visited the academy’s exhibition hall to gain a deeper understanding of its significant innovative achievements and development history in the field of agricultural science and technology. Both parties engaged in practical exchanges on potential areas and implementation pathways for cooperation, creating favorable conditions for deepening collaboration.
