Mr. Soopakij Chearavanont, Chairman of CP Group, Is Invited to Attend the Inaugural Assembly of the World Data Organization

On March 30th, the inaugural assembly of the World Data Organization (WDO), entitled "Building a Data Cooperation Platform · Sharing Digital Development Opportunities," was held in Beijing. This was the world's first professional international organization dedicated to promoting data development and governance practices. Its headquarters was in Beijing. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the WDO. Mr. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the inaugural assembly, read President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter, and delivered a keynote speech.

CP Group became one of the initial member units of the World Data Organization. Mr. Soopakij Chearavanont, Chairman of CP Group, was invited to attend the inaugural assembly and delivered a speech in English. Mr. Yang Xiaoping, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group and CEO of CP Group China, and Mr. Huang Weiwei, Chief China Strategic Development and Cooperation Officer of CP Group and Senior Vice Chaiman of CP Group China, also attended the inaugural assembly.

In his speech, Mr. Soopakij Chearavanont stated that we were entering a new era where data was no longer just a resource—it was the foundation of the global economy, the engine of innovation, and the bridge that connected humanity. The establishment of the World Data Organization would play a vital role in building an open, inclusive, and trusted global data ecosystem. CP Group was willing to fully leverage its network advantages and practical experiences of digitalization as a multinational corporation to contribute to global data governance.

At the inaugural assembly, it was revealed that the World Data Organization had attracted over 200 core institutions as its initial members, covering more than 40 countries across 6 continents. These members comprised diverse entities including businesses, universities, think tanks, international organizations, and financial institutions, with businesses accounting for nearly 70%. Member units broadly covered 14 key industry sectors, including manufacturing, finance, healthcare, public services, e-commerce retail, transportation and logistics, energy, construction, internet, agriculture, education, media, automotive, and law.
