CP Group is Invited to Attend the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Thailand’s 2026 Chinese New Year Reception

On February 11th, China’s Ambassador to Thailand Mr. Zhang Jianwei and his wife Miao Haiyan hosted the 2026 Chinese New Year reception at the embassy. More than 700 people, including Anutin, the Prime Minister of Thailand and his wife, overseas Chinese, employees of Chinese-funded institutions, and representatives of overseas students in Thaiand, gathered together to celebrate the Spring Festival.

Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of CP Group, was invited to attend the reception with some family members, including his eldest son, Mr. Soopakij Chearavanont, his third son, Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, and his grandsons, Mr. Tanit Chearavanont and Mr. Santiphong Chearavanont Ross. Huang Weiwei and Zheng Kemin, from CP Group, accompanied them to attend the reception.

Accompanied by the traditional Chaoshan Yingge performance, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei, Prime Minister Anutin, and Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont jointly dotted eyes for the auspicious lion, thus opening the event.

Ambassador Zhang Jianwei delivered a speech, extending his New Year greeting to the guests and praising the outstanding contributions made by overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions, and overseas students in Thailand to Thailand's economic prosperity, social progress, and China-Thailand friendship. He pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, China had achieved historic accomplishments and undergone historic changes. This year marked the start of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and China would maintain the core position of innovation in the modernization process, promote industrial innovation through scientific and technological innovation, and accelerate the development of new quality productive forces.

Ambassador Zhang Jianwei emphasized that China-Thailand relations were currently at their best in history. Last year, King Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand paid a historic state visit to China. President Xi Jinping and King Vajiralongkorn reached important consensus on promoting friendly relations between China and Thailand. This fully demonstrated the high importance and strategic guidance that the leaders of both countries attached to China-Thailand relations and pointed the way for the future development of the two countries. China and Thailand would strengthen the contacts regarding development strategies and jointly promote the construction of a China-Thailand community with a shared future to a deeper and more practical level.

Prime Minister Anutin delivered his speech entirely in Chinese. He thanked President Xi Jinping for the warm reception of His Majesty the King of Thailand for his visit to China. He expressed that it was a great honor to attend the Chinese New Year reception today and to celebrate the festival with everyone. On behalf of the Thai government and people, he wished the Chinese people and overseas Chinese in Thailand a happy Spring Festival and a prosperous Year of the Horse, and wished the friendship between China and Thailand to be everlasting and to become more and more closer.
