Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of CP Group, and Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group, Are Invited to Attend the 11th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations

The 11th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations opened in Beijing on the afternoon of July 13th. The theme of the conference was "Uniting Overseas Chinese Hearts, Gathering Overseas Chinese Strength, Seeking Development." More than 400 leaders of overseas Chinese associations from 140 countries and regions attended the conference.

Mr. Wang Huning, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with all the delegates attending the conference and took a group photo. On behalf of the CPC Central Committee, he extended a warm welcome to the delegates and sincere greetings to overseas Chinese around the world. Mr. Li Ganjie, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the conference.

Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, President of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs and Senior Chairman of CP Group, and his eldest grandson, Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group, were invited to attend the opening ceremony and meeting.

That evening, Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont and Mr. Tanit Chearavanont were invited to attend the welcome dinner of the 11thConference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations.

On the morning of July 14th, the theme forum of the 11th Conference for Friendship of Overseas Chinese Associations was held. Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont and Mr. Tanit Chearavanont were invited to participate in the forum.

Mr. Tanit Chearavanont was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the forum themed "Focusing on Youth Growth and Inheriting Cultural Roots." He shared the century-long story of the Xie family as overseas Chinese businessmen, recounting the patriotic sentiments of four generations spanning a century and the journey of mutual empowerment between China and Thailand. His speech vividly illustrated the original aspirations and responsibilities of overseas Chinese in establishing themselves overseas, remaining connected to their ancestral homeland, and deeply cultivating Sino-foreign economic, trade, and cultural exchanges. His insightful remarks were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Mr. Tanit Chearavanont stated that the Xie family's century-long journey began in 1921 with the founding of "Chia Tai Chuang" in Bangkok, Thailand, by his great-grandfather, Mr. Chia Ek Chor. Mr. Chia Ek Chor was not only an entrepreneur but also a scientist, who dedicated himself to improving seed quality through technology. He said, "My great-grandfather, Mr. Chia Ek Chor, has four sons named Xie Zhengmin, Xie Damin, Xie Zhongmin, and Xie Guomin. The middle part of their names together forms 'Zhengda Zhongguo.' The Teochew business spirit represented by my great-grandfather and grandfather not only teaches us how to do business but also teaches us the importance of gratitude."

He said that after China's reform and opening up in 1979, his grandfather, Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, actively responded to the call for overseas Chinese to invest in China, invested at the earliest opportunity, and obtained the first foreign-invested enterprise approval certificate in the country. Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont introduced advanced global technologies to China, developed modern agriculture, and continued to increase investment in China. He stated that his grandparents’ generation not only taught the family how to do business, but the Teochew business spirit they represented was also deeply ingrained in the family's bloodline, becoming the foundation for their livelihood passed down through generations.

He also mentioned that the CP Group had always been committed to promoting Chinese technology overseas. The Group worked closely with many well-known Chinese enterprises and brands, expanded into overseas markets, and had already achieved fruitful results in the field of smart retail ecosystems. In the end, he said emotionally, “105 years ago, my great-grandfather brought Chinese seeds to Thailand, and 47 years ago, my grandfather’s generation brought advanced global technologies back to China.  Now, as the fourth generation, I will continue to contribute more to promoting Chinese technology and culture to the world.”

On the afternoon of July 14th, Mr. Wang Linggui, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), met with Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont. Mr. Gao Feng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the ACFROC, Mr. Zhang Ling, Deputy Director of the General Office of the ACFROC, Mr. Xu Huakun, Deputy Director of the Economy and Technology Department of the ACFROC, Mr. Xia Fudong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs, Mr. Yang Xiaoping, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group and CEO of CP Group China, Mr. Xie Yi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group, Mr. Tanit Chearavanont, Mr. Huang Weiwei, Chief China Strategic Development and Cooperation Officer of CP Group and Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China, Mr. He Yinyou, Senior Vice President of CP Group, and Mr. Xue Zengyi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China's Agro-Industry and Food Business, a2lso attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Wang Linggui first extended a warm welcome to Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont and the delegation and presented three photographs of important historical value related to overseas Chinese affairs.

Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the ACFROC for its continued care, support, and assistance to CP Group, and to Mr. Wang Linggui for presenting valuable photographs today. He reported to Mr. Wang Linggui on CP Group's industrial layout in China and focused on how the group leveraged high technology and artificial intelligence to contribute to the modernization of Chinese agriculture, to achieve shared growth through consultation and collaboration, and to promote common prosperity. He stated that CP Group had been actively bringing in industry experts and professionals in the field of machinery and equipment, making full use of artificial intelligence, and promoting the automatic and unmanned operation of production lines. He expressed his strong agreement with President Xi Jinping's concepts of "achieving shared growth through consultation and collaboration" and "building a community with a shared future for mankind," and he remained optimistic about China's development prospects. He also stated that under the leadership of the ACFROC, the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs would continue to play a role as a bridge and a link, actively building platforms for exchange and cooperation, and helping more Chinese enterprises expand into overseas markets.

Mr. Wang Linggui expressed his appreciation to Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont and CP Group for their contributions to China's reform and opening up. He stated that CP Group had long been deeply rooted in China's industries and had a strong connection to the ancestral homeland. It had integrated AI high technology into its whole industrial chain, using intelligent transformation to improve the efficiency of traditional industries, using digital methods to empower agricultural modernization, thus injecting strong momentum into China's high-quality economic development.

He stated that in recent years, the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs had actively served the overall national development strategy, participated in economic and social development, and served overseas Chinese businesses, achieving remarkable results and making positive contributions. The federation had been widely praised by its members and welcomed by governments at all levels. For example, its participation in events such as the China Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Investment Conference, the Belt and Road Overseas Chinese Cooperation and Development Conference, and the World Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Hainan Tour had become a classic example. The China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs operated in a standardized manner and had a wide-ranging influence, becoming a warm home for its members. He hoped that Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont would continue to guide overseas Chinese entrepreneurs, closely aligning with the "15th Five-Year Plan" strategic deployment, closely connecting high-quality overseas resources with domestic development needs, actively participating in the construction of China's modern industrial system; promoting Chinese culture, acting as friendly ambassadors of mutual learning between civilizations, telling China's story well; and guiding young overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and the new generation of overseas Chinese to continue the deep affection that the older generation of overseas Chinese had for their ancestral homeland.

He also stated that Mr. Tanit Chearavanont delivered a brilliant speech at the forum, demonstrating the positive momentum of the CP Group's business being passed down from generation to generation and forging ahead into the future. He encouraged the younger generation to bravely shoulder responsibilities and run the relay race well, and he invited Mr. Tanit Chearavanont to visit the "Cultural Relics Narrating Stories of China-US People-to-People Friendship" exhibition at the Overseas Chinese History Museum of China.
