On the morning of November 29th, the 23rd Teochew International Convention, themed "Roots and Ties, Prosperity of Home and Country," opened at the Chaozhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangdong. The Teochew International Convention was recognized by Teochew people both at home and abroad as one of the highest-level, broadest-ranging, and most influential international conventions in the overseas Chinese community. The Convention brought together nearly 1,800 representatives from 165 Teochew associations worldwide, who returned to their hometown and gathered together to preserve their roots, reminisce about their hometown, promote national prosperity, and plan for the future. Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Huang Mengfu, Vice Chairman of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the CPPCC, delivered a video speech. Especially for companies in traditional industries, he suggested that "they must develop robots," which could not only greatly improve quality and production efficiency, but "more importantly, the goods produced are cheap and cheerful." He believed that as Teochew businessmen, the next step would be to "bring China's most advanced and successful products and experience overseas and introduce them to the world." "The world market is still huge," he said, encouraging global Teochew businessmen to work with Chinese high-tech companies to jointly explore global markets, expand global industrial chain cooperation, and promote more "Made in China" and "Intelligent Manufactured in China" products to the world. "This is the direction of future development."

The opening ceremony also included the launch of the "Teochew Business Yellow Pages", the launch of the "Teochew Products Going Global, Premium Products Entering Teochew" Supply Chain Cooperation, the opening of the "Global Teochew People's History and Culture Exhibition Center," and the donation ceremony for the "Teochew People Park" project. The ceremony also introduced the compilation of "Charity Chronicle of Teochew People" and released the "Teochew People Around the World Are One Family, Sharing the Chinese Dream Together - An Initiative to Teochew People at Home and Abroad", uniting the strength of Teochew people worldwide.

During the press interview session following the opening ceremony, Mr. Xie Haishan, a council member of the International Teochew Doctor Association and a member of the Chaozhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, told reporters that what impressed him most was the humble attitude, pragmatic vision, and keen insight displayed by 86-year-old Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont during his sharing, which greatly inspired the on-site guests.
