A Century-Old Business Being Passed Down Through Generations, Connecting Youth with History Through Cultural Bond

Young employees were the core force for the Group's future development and the backbone of continuing the Group's century-long, glorious history and passing down the corporate spirit. To promote the history of the Group and deepen the emotional connection between young employees and corporate culture, the CP Group China Human Resources Center held a themed event entitled "A Century-Old Business Being Passed Down Through Generations: A Conversation with the Group’s History" on January 23rd in the Culture and Creation Office Area on the 41st floor of the South Tower of CP Center. The event adopted a hybrid online and offline format, with a total of over 500 participants. It aimed at helping young employees look back on the Group's century-long journey, draw strength from the Group’s rich historical accumulation, clarify their career development direction, and strengthen their cultural identity and sense of belonging to the company.

The event began with an immersive video presentation. The video interweaved faded old photographs and precious historical footage with vibrant moments of the Group's current prosperity, vividly recreating the glorious development of CP Group from its beginnings as a small vegetable seed shop called "Chia Tai Chung" in Bangkok's Chinatown, through over a century of trials and tribulations, to its current status as a multinational conglomerate with international influence. This video instantly transported the young employees, both in person and online, into the Group's historical journey. During the Q&A session, young employees actively participated, sharing the vivid, multifaceted, and positive group images from their perspective.

To make abstract cultural concepts resonate with young employees in a more vivid way, thereby fostering their identification, sublimation, and practice, the CP Group China Human Resources Center specially invited Mr. Xue Zengyi, Senior Vice Chairman of CP Group China's Agro-Industry and Food Business, as the guest speaker. He delivered a sharing session to young employees that combined intellectual depth with emotional warmth, and shared his learning experiences on the Group's Six Values, "Three Benefits Principle, Speed ​​and Quality, Simplification, Accept Change, Innovate, Integrity and Honesty," as well as the Six Virtues, "Gratitude, Be Willing to Give, Loss is Gain, Forgiveness, Sacrifice, Diligence." The sharing session cleverly incorporated stories of the Group's predecessors' struggles, providing young employees with relatable and inspiring role models and conveying the spirit of being down-to-earth, adhering to one’s original aspiration, and bravely undertaking missions. Furthermore, Mr. Xue Zengyi cited classics to explain the origins of the names of Mr. Chia Ek Chor, the Group's founder, and his two brothers, the cultural meanings behind the names, as well as the Xie family's patriotism, original intention of starting the business, and sense of responsibility, enabling young employees to feel the humanistic warmth and spiritual heritage of this century-old enterprise.

During the interactive session following the sharing session, young employees actively asked questions and exchanged ideas on key issues such as career development planning, the inheritance and practice of corporate culture, and the development direction of core businesses. The atmosphere was relaxed and harmonious yet had the spark of exchanging ideas.

The successful hosting of this event warmly and powerfully united young employees with the positive energy of the Group's century-old culture, further deepening their understanding and identification with the corporate culture. The young employees expressed that this event enabled them to have a more comprehensive understanding of the Group's century-long history, and that they would take the predecessors as role models, practice the Group's values, deeply integrate their personal growth with the Group's development, contribute their youthful energy to the Group’s century-old business, and play a vital role in writing a new chapter of glory for the Group.
